Publicall Telecommunications,
Inc. installs and maintains public telephone as a sub-contractor for various
phone companies. They wanted the kiosk
project developed so they could deploy pc type devices in lieu of standard pay
phones at certain locations (hotel lobbies, restaurants, etc.).

Below is the main screen of the
kiosk, what the customer would see upon walking up to the system.

The features are as follows:

The center part of the screen is reserved for
advertisement. This advertisement can
be in any format (Flash, static jpg, AVI, Animated gif, MOV files, etc.) When a customer clicks on any of the ads the
kiosk brings them to a web site that the advertiser has pre-determined. The kiosk operator can specify the order of
the ads and the duration they are on the screen.

The scrolling ticker on the bottom of the screen can
display an infinite number of stock symbols from the NYSE, NASDAQ, the S&P,
AMEX & OTCBB. The quotes are
updated every five (5) minutes and the ticker scrolls continuously. If a customer clicks anywhere on the ticker
they are brought to a web site the kiosk operator has pre-determined

The help button is present on all screens. When a customer presses this button a
detailed screen specific to the one they are on will appear to assist them.

The remaining buttons on the screen are dynamically
read from a database and can be presented to the customer with any button
design, caption text and target location. In this example, the AT&T, Chat and Marriott buttons bring the
customer directly to those companies web sites. This is a restricted browser; the customer can only view the
desired web site and any sub links that the web site exposes.The Internet button brings the customer to a
fully operational browser where they can surf
the net at will. The kiosk operator can
select a pre-determined home page for this button. Cool Stuff, Games and Info buttons bring the customer to a secondary menu page. The Email button also brings the customer to a secondary menu
page but which is specific to sending and
receiving Email.

Every feature on this screen is dynamically loaded from
a database. The positions of the
buttons, ads, ticker as well as their associated art, target locations, stock
symbols, etc. Tools are provided to the
kiosk operator to change the look and feel of the kiosk at any time as well as
removing adding an ad, changing web site target, etc.
